Thank you so much for coming to our Literacy Picnic! The kids were excited to share their reading and writing with you!
Please forgive me for falling behind on posting pictures in the newsletters. I had good intentions of updating our blog, but it seems like baseball and dance have eaten up a lot of my time lately. :)
This six weeks we worked hard on writing letters and invitations (we invited Mrs. Gideon's class to our classroom for popcorn), our how-to papers (my mom came for a visit and we made pb&j sandwiches following each group's directions...it was LOTS of fun) and measuring! We have also really enjoyed reading nonfiction books over the last several weeks. I can't wait for all of the fun things we have planned for the last six weeks! We wrapped up our Texas unit with a rodeo on the Thursday before spring break. The kids LOVED it!!! Thank you to all the parents who helped with it. On Friday, we read the book "Armadilly Chili" and made our own class chili. I wasn't sure if the kids were going to like it or not, but to my surprise, they devoured it!
